Trend Timbers specialises in fine woods, both exotic and Australian timbers.  As a timber supplier, we pride ourselves on quality timber, service and wide range.   
Trend Timbers was established in 1969 and is now owned and operated by Richard and Adrian Clark.  Trend Timbers specialisation in exotic timbers continues and their knowledge collectively have over 95 years experience as timber merchants and suppliers of rare Australian and Imported Timbers. 
Trend Timbers customer base include Joinery and Furniture manufacturers, Boat Builders, Hobbyists, Schools, TAFE,  wood carvers and wood turners.  In fact any one using high quality timber.  We dispatch timber all over Australia and will send overseas. 
Trend Timbers are also stockists of the famous Teknatool wood turning lathes, wood turning chucks and accessories, wood turning tools, wood carving tools, Tormek Grinders, sharpening wheels, jigs, project parts,  wood finishes and full range of glue and abrasives. 
Trend Timbers for over 20 years now has held their own mini Working With Wood show with Wood turning and Wood Carving demonstrations with contributions from The Hawkesbury Woodcraft Co-operative, The Sydney Woodturners Guild, The Ornamental Wood Turners, The Sydney Wood Carvers and David Revitt one of Australia’s best Wood Tuners.

Purple heart derives its name from its deep violet-purple coloured heartwood and is often very light when first worked and it oxidizes to its amazing colour in a few days.

Blackbutt

Blackbutt is generally a straight grain, occasionally interlocked or wavy with a moderately fine texture. Small scattered gum veins are characteristic. Blackbutt weighs on average 880kg/m3 Blackbutt is pale-brown to brown, tinged pink. Blackbutt is very durable and extremely resistant to preservative treatment Blackbutt is used in general construction, flooring joists, posts & rails and staircases.
