Bote-Cote Fillers
High Strength Filler:
A high density glass fibre and particle filler for maximum strength glueing applications such as catamaran beams, mast bulkheads, load carrying transoms, etc.
Glue Filler:
A low cost blended filler used for most glueing applications and also for making all fillets.
Fairing Filler:
A low density, easily sanded microsphere based filler, which spreads like cream to a perfect feather edge. Used for filling and fairing.
Purbond:
Purbond is a single pack moisture curing polyurethane adhesive developed by BoatCraft as an easy to use gap filling adhesive. It is ideal for all general joinery, and especially for strip planked construction using the Quickstrip method, and is completely compatible with the Bote Cote Epoxy System. Purbond expands as it sets, which gives it its useful gap filling properties. However in rather open joints, such as bulkhead to hull joints, the glue can expand out of the joint leaving it with insufficient strength. For all open joints, epoxy is preferred. Purbond is fast setting, clamps can be removed generally within 1 to 2 hours. Joints can be cleaned up with normal tools, as Purbond does not blunt edge tools in the way epoxy does.
